Here we are, two years later and nothing has changed. Health-care reform is still heavily debated; whether or not it’s the government’s job to be in health care or where their authority ends. Now, instead of arguing the initial points of health care, politicians are attacking the little laws inside the over-arching bill, the most recent being the mandate of contraceptives without cost-sharing for all insurance plans.
This recent update of health care spurred anger from most religious groups and social conservatives, including the Catholic church and radio show host Rush Limbaugh. The Church is calling for religious exemption from the law, but Rush is calling for it to be flipped on its head.
Rush Limbaugh invited a Georgetown law student, Sandra Fluke, onto his show to advocate for contraception. Her argument put forth that women pay so much money for contraception and other women’s health issues, that it can make college students fight for money. Limbaugh had this to say about it;
“What does it say about the college co-ed Fluke, who goes before a congressional committee and essentially says she must be paid to have sex?” Limbaugh asked. “What does that make her? It makers her a slut? It makes her a prostitute. She wants to be paid to have sex.”

Since then, the political world has been in an uproar, with the Left attacking Limbaugh and the Right going back to Bill Maher (who has had some close calls in the past). Presidental debates have mentioned of Limbaugh’s comment, and so far 40 advertisers and Rage Against the Machine have pulled their support and music from Limbaugh’s show.
This is not the only ethical call on Limbaugh though. This is the same guy who was caught with someone else’s Viagra bottle after his trip to the Dominican Republic. The man who said “You know who deserves a posthumous Medal of Honor? James Earl Ray [the confessed assassin of Marin Luther King]. We miss you, James. Godspeed.”
Limbaugh has the uncanny ability to keep people on his side, but with recent racy comments, racist ideals, and opportune hypocrisy, it just might finally catch up with him.
