National Honor Society hosted the Habitat for Humanity on Saturday, March 24, 2012. They took a bus with students from FBLA, NHS, StuCo, and TSA.
Mrs. Danya Martin, Ms. April Moyer, Mrs. Marge Dunlap, and Ms. Kelly Williams are the sponsors, and left with the students from MacArthur at 6:45 a.m. and traveled to Coleman Ridge where they painted and worked on the construction of three homes.
Students under 18 painted and did everything but power tools. There were volunteers there to help guide them as they learned to build a home.
In all, about 47 students participated in what had been a plan of NHS for two years.
“I felt it went really well,” senior Alyssa Bonilla said. “It’s an awesome feeling knowing that people are going to live in these homes.”
