Attention all Twi-hards:
The countdown is on. The Twilight Saga:Breaking Dawn Part 2 will open in 15 more days. Pre-ticket sales for this movie have garnered over 1 million dollars and fans around the world are anxiously awaiting the premiere of this new movie. Part 1 leaves viewers with a cliffhanger; they never see Bella as a full vampire and only catch a glimpse of her half-human and half vampire baby Renesmee.
Until now.
In Part 2, fans will finally see Bella as a vampire, seeing the world through her eyes. Edward, Bella, and Renesmee make the perfect family, but things take a turn for the worst when heartbroken Irina informs the Volturi that Edward and Bella have bitten a human child and transformed it into a vampire. The supreme law of the Volturi is to NEVER bite a human child, this law is punishable by death. Vampire children don’t grow up, so they are the most unstable and deadly of all vampires. Outraged, the Volturi give word to the Cullen family that they are coming for their lives. The Cullens, who have never backed down from a challenge, retrieve all their friends from covens all over the world. These covens originate from countries including Romania, Egypt, Ireland, and the Amazon.
Together, with the help of the werewolf pack, they will fight in a battle to end all battles. This series finale is going to be epic and fans are not going to want to miss this. I asked a few students how they felt about Breaking Dawn Part 2.
Are you excited to see this movie?
Sara Tidmore (11): Why wouldn’t I be? Twilight rocks my socks!
Natalya Lugo (9): Yes. Oh my gosh.
I even received an opinion from Jacque Follis (11) who represents those who are not so excited about this premiere.
Follis: No, I don’t think Twilight is that good.
In Breaking Dawn Part 1, Bella gives birth to her new baby, Renesmee. How did you feel about that?
Follis: Wait. Wouldn’t her pregnancy hurt? How bad would that hurt? I mean if I had a vampire baby I’d be like AAH! You can’t bounce back from that!
Tidmore: Oh yeah, I think she died!
Who’s your favorite character?
Lugo: Bella. She’s so cool and so chill.
Follis: Jacob has a hot body.
Do you think this movie is going to make the most out of all the Twilight movies?
Lugo: No, I think the last one made the most money because they got married. It was intense.
Tidmore: This is the grand finale so people are going to want to see this.
Are you going to the midnight premiere?
Tidmore: No.
Lugo: No, too many people dress up and it’s stupid.
Follis: No, those people are all crazy about it! My friend Shannon goes to those things all the time and she LOVES to dress up. It’s crazy!
Even though Bella married Edward and had a baby with him, are you Team Edward or Team Jacob?
Lugo: I could never decide, but Edward Cullen is perfect.
Follis: I just think she should just choose between the both of them and have both of them propose. But I think Jacob has a nice body.
What are you looking forward to the most when you see this movie?
Tidmore: Probably seeing Bella as a vampire.
It seems that the actual Twilight fans are very excited about this movie. People who are not, however, seem to just know the surface of this series.
Non-fans seem to criticize- or admire- the actors themselves rather than the characters they portray. Nonetheless, Twilight fever is spreading throughout the school. Taylor Lautner, who plays the werewolf Jacob Black, has recently explained that Breaking Dawn Part 2 will have a different twist ending from the actual book. The novel ended with the Cullen family triumphing over the Volturi having Bella, Edward, and Renesmee returning home peacefully. This spoiler leaves us wondering how different the ending will be and if this will make Breaking Dawn Part 2 a great movie.
