As the short 9 weeks comes to a close and semester exams approach, it is the usual time for students to kick it into gear and try to ensure a passing grade for the semester.
The teachers only have a couple more weeks of new curriculum to to teach and then only a week of studying and exams stand in the way of students from their much needed winter break. The exam schedule for this semester is listed below.
December 18th [Tuesday]: 4th period and 6th period exams
December 19th [ Wednesday]: 3rd period and 5th period exams
December 20th [ Thursday]:2nd and 7th period exams
December 21st [ Friday] : 1st period and 8th period exams
If students have little to no absences and a average grade of 80 or above can exempt 3 of their exams . Exemption forms can be picked up in the office and are due on December 7th. The rules for exemptions are listed below:
If a students grade average is 95 or above students are allowed 3 or fewer absences.
If students grade average is 90-94 students are allowed 2 or fewer absences.
If students grade average is 85-89 students are allowed 1 or fewer absences.
If students grade average is 80-84 students are allowed 0 absences.
Students cannot exempt an AP class the first semester and a dual credit classes cannot exempt either semester. Excused absences, even with doctor and parents notes, still count as absences. Students need both their parents and their teachers to sign the forms in order to be exempt from taking the exam.
