As we all know, this week we have a three-day weekend for Good Friday. Some of us will be taking it off as a religious holiday while others will take it as an ordinary day off.It is an option to stay at home and be lame but it would be better to take advantage of your free Friday off. If your one who doesn’t have anything to do on Friday there will be some events happening all around San Antonio.
On the 29th, the first ever baseball game at the Alamodome will begin, continuing into the three-day weekend. Big League Weekend will feature the 2010-11 American League Champion Texas Rangers vs. the San Diego Padres.
If your a teen and into the night life, the McNay art museum will hold its free teen night after dark. If you bring a package of paper plates, cups or plastic utensils you will get free admission to the museum starting at 7 pm. The picnic utensils will be used as supplies to make collaborative sculptures. You will also be able to enjoy refreshments music and art while being taught by an Austin based college artist.
If you’re looking for a religious event, The San Fernando Cathedral will put on a Passion play that is free and open to the public. It takes place outdoors starting out Milam park at 11 am and proceeds to the Cathedral. The play is all spoken in Spanish but it is easy to pick up the chain of events even though you dont speak the language.
Of course, there is always the option of staying home, and if so you could prepare for Easter Sunday by freshening up the house. While your cleaning if you find anything that you find yourself not in need of, Goodwill will have a Give Away to Give Away. The grand prize is a three-night stay to Schlitterbahn South Padre Island Beach Resort.
If you still find yourself in need of something to do, there is always something going on in San Antonio.
