Volleyball Defeats The Vols 3-1
Defeating the Lee Volunteers Thurs. night, Varsity Volleyball rebounded from a 1-3 record in district play. The girls started the game going back and forth with the score being very close. Leading for most of the game, the Lady Brahmas eventually lost control and fell to the Volunteers in the first game. But, the next two games would result in two wins for Varsity. Throughout the fourth game, the Brahmas were ready to end it, but the Volunteers would not give up. The last game was very close with a score of 25-23, resulting in the Lady Brahmas winning the match.
“We had to beat them so we could prepare for the next game and get the motivation that we needed,” Madison Trawick,9, said.
The beginning of the season has not started off well with a record of 5-7. But the girls are hopeful to pick up the pace and make it to the post season.
“We had to beat them so we could prepare for the next game and get the motivation that we needed,” Trawick said. “[I see us] hopefully going to playoffs and coming out with a W.”
Also, the team beat Madison yesterday to move into fourth place in district.
“[At the end of the season] I see us, hopefully, in third, but it could be fourth and I’ll take either/or,” Coach Margaret Mitcham said.
