To bring the whole school together and build our school spirit, students gather each Friday morning in the middle of the courtyard. Cheerleaders dance in sync with the drum-line as the school gets pumped up for the upcoming game.
One of the things that makes this school unique is that it is the only school in North East Independent School District that has a Pep Rally weekly.
“Going to pep rallies every Friday shows your dedication to the school,” junior Nicole Siemek said. “[It] gets you excited for the [football] game.”
Fridays are not just the start of the weekend, but a day that gives the students something to look forward to all week long.
“I think the fact that we have a pep rally so often really helps with our schools pride,” Siemek said. “ [It] shows that we are more than just a school, we’re like a big family.”
School gatherings are not just to honor the team, but to show that students do not care about winning alone and care about the school bond. Students support each other no matter what the outcome is on the scoreboard.
