Christmas is less than two weeks away, and the holiday spirit is starting to infiltrate its way into MacArthur’s halls. Both students and staff have been participating in Student Council’s Holiday Dress Up Days in which five different Christmas themes are picked for the different days of the week for dressing up.
On Monday, Mrs. Sebesta, Ms. Caveda, and Mrs. Jobe from MacArthur’s Special Education department dressed up like their favorite holiday characters. Jobe says that she dresses up because it’s fun and our kids enjoy it.
On Tuesday, junior Renee Cochran wore her tackiest Christmas sweater.
“[Theme days are] super awesome, and dressing up for stuff is fun [to] me,” Cochran said.
Coach Lara, renowned for going all out during theme days, painted his entire face to look like a deer on Rudolf the Red Nosed Reindeer day.
For the 12 Days of Christmas themed day, senior Matthew Lozano sported two turtle doves on the sleeve of his sweater.
“I dressed up to show support for the various activities on campus such as Student Council, which I am a part of,” Lozano said.
On the final theme day, seniors Rachel Gornitz and Krystan George sported garlands and posed as gifts in Mr. Curran’s calculus class.
“I dressed up as a present, because I am a present,” George said.
