The course fair is a way for those getting ready to enter high school to get a chance to experience and learn about all the different course they can take as a freshman, but its not just for the eighth graders. Its also a way for sophomores and juniors to maybe find another extra curricular course to take. The course fair will be held Thursday, January 29th, all around the campus.
There will be many extra curricular courses that students can go look at and get information about.
For example, JROTC will have a booth explaining what their program is about.
“Many of the teams [will be] showing little bit of their sequence. Quincy is gonna show [a] video [of] what we do in the program,” senior executive officer Christiann Ayala said. “We like to just talk to the [eighth graders] about everything that goes on in ROTC, make them feel part of it, and explain to them what the opportunities they can possibly have in the future.”
But, JROTC isn’t the only group with a booth displaying their program. The Electrical club will have a booth that will showcase their main focus in the course.
“We have some projects that the kids have built [that] demonstrate the basic activity that we do here,” electrical teacher Eduardo Del Toro said. “We always have our kids talk about the program, because they ted to draw more attention and a lot of kids like to hear their point of views instead of the instructors point of view.”
These are just two of the multiple courses that will be showcase at this years course fair. All the others will have information that could be critical for freshmen who are filling out their choice sheets for the upcoming year.
