The teachers gathered around a long white table covered in many different crockpots of chili and crackers, and traveled down the row to another table filled with a variety of deserts.
PTA President Amy Conner brings together the annual chili cook-off each February.
“It started out a few years ago, as chili cook-off contest, but then the votes would get crazy because we had different chili’s at different lunches,” Conner said. “We still call it a chili cook-off, but we hold it in February to honor the faculty and staff.”
The judging of the chili cook-off is not the traditional system of voting for the chili, but works on a system of whichever one runs out the first as being the best.
