Totaling their eighth shutout of the season and fourth district win, the girls soccer team defeated Roosevelt 7-0 Feb. 20. Six different players scored in the game, led by junior Joanne Rios at two goals.

The team started off slow, not scoring until the 22nd minute. After their first goal, scored by Rios, the team would dominate from then on, taking a 4-0 lead at halftime.
After halftime, junior goalie Mary Cardone came out of the box and entered the field as a forward. She scored her fourth goal of the season in only her second appearance outside of the goal.
Also, team scoring leader junior Kyra Falcone did not score in the game because of minimal playing time from injuries.

The team faces Johnson at 5 p.m. Tuesday at BAC-West.
