As they walk down separate hallways heading to their class of the hour. One walks with ease heading to her classroom, while the other struggles to figure out how to get around the people in front of her to get to class on time.
When doing activities or even just getting to class people tend to be more relaxed, but even then, some freshman still are stressed out.
“Passing through classes and I get in the way and people just roll their eyes,” freshman Sarah Montes said. “ like ‘Ugh freshmen.’ it freaks me out a little.”
Freshman struggle through high school, especially when they’re being judged by other people.
“Some people don’t say anything or care,” Montes said. “and others look down on me. It’s not really nice.”
In high school everyone has a great amount of stress. But as a senior stress is just the beginning.
“Preparing for college,” senior Maricela Alaniz said. “writing essays for college, finding money to pay for it.”
Also, the amount of pressure they feel isn’t from bumping into others, or getting in the way to get to their own class.
“[I feel] a lot [of stress] because if I’m not serious about making deadlines it could affect me in college,” Alaniz said. “Time will go by quick and soon I’ll be an adult in no time.”
You learn many things as you go through high school, especially as a freshman.
“I learned I need to multitask a lot better and relax,” Montes said. “and not let my thoughts get the best of me in any situation.”
