On Sept. 30, Karianne Chupp and I went on a little coffee adventure downtown San Antonio, and found the hot spot, Halcyon: a coffee and lounge place for anyone who enjoys some nice music with a hot but not steaming coffee or an iced cold latte, espresso or even a mango, strawberry and banana smoothie for my sweet tooth peeps and the list goes on.
Halcyon has an energetic atmosphere filled with welcoming employees and friendly people around you. It’s a great place to bring family and friends for a delicious brunch and dinner, but the best time to bring either family members or a group of awesome friends is at night and ordering their s’mores pit. It’s mind-blowing because your server brings out a wooden circular plate that contains two circles: one for the marshmallows with sticks and chocolate while the middle circle holds the small fire pit and the best part is when the server lights up the crystals inside the little pit in order to create big flames to heat your s’more; it’s pretty neat.
Halcyon also hosts trivia nights on Tuesdays at 8 p.m. Overall, I had a great night drinking an iced, cold, delightful hazelnut latte while studying with my friend, Chupp; it was Chupp’s first time going to Halcyon and she rated her experience 10/10.
