This week new library lunch procedures were announced. Students are now expected to enter the cafeteria through the courtyard doors during the first ten minutes of lunch, as well as getting library passes from a teacher periods 1-3. The office is no longer handing them out.
“There are two things we have to take into consideration, there’s accessibility and then there’s security,” the librarian Mrs. Schnacker said. “Making sure kids are properly supervised, also takes into account making sure kids are where they’re supposed to be.”
Students are still getting used to the new procedures and where to go.
“Unfortunately it was brought to our attention that we had students misusing those passses and essentially taking advantage of our accessibility in order to get into the building and cause problems in the hallway,” Ms.Schnacker said. “So that was ultimately what brought about the change.”
