The theater department presents “David and Lisa” in the BlackBox theater, opening on Wednesday, Oct. 19 and closing on Oct. 22. Students are welcome to view the soft opening for free after school on Oct. 18.
Based on the novel by psychiatrist Theodore Isaac Rubin and the award-winning film of the same name, this drama brings laughter, heartbreak and suspense to an ultimately uplifting story. James Reach’s “David and Lisa” follows two peculiar teens – David, who has an extreme fear of being touched, and Lisa, who has a split personality – during their time at a residential treatment center.
“This production has been a time to remember,” junior Elijah Del Toro who plays Ben in the show said. “During this process, we learned how to become better actors as well as better people. The way all the characters come together is truly something to never forget.”
