The Theater production of Puffs, or Seven Increasingly Eventful Years at a Certain School of Magic and Magic was indeed a very magical show.
The production was filled with on stage effects, crazy makeup and lots and lots of laughs. The cast really brought their A-game while up on stage. Some stand-out acts were Wayne played by Parker Veltman, Megan played by Victoria Medrano, Oliver played by Zachary Herring, Suzie played by Kendall Dempsey and Harry played by Dani Montoya. The amount of comedy in this show really made it a great event to go to and there were laughs all around.
The effect wands the characters used were also fantastic, along with all of the other visual effects. The lighting on the show was amazingly done and the sound was also outstanding. There were little bits of music throughout the show that were very well chosen too. Kudos to the light and sound team because they did a great job.
There were a few times in the show where things went a little wrong but the cast did an amazing job at improvising. They turned a mess up into a joke and made the whole theater laugh. Another thoroughly enjoyable aspect was the interaction with the audience. The narrator of the show (Zachary Carter) talked to the audience and even on occasion gave the front row little pieces of memorabilia. Interaction with the audience always makes the show even more special. It makes the audience feel like they are part of the show.
Overall, the show did have its little mishaps here and there but the show was great otherwise and once again, the cast really pulled it all together with their fantastic acts and the tech team worked very hard to make it a pleasant production. Mac Theater always creates great productions and students cannot wait to see what they pull off next.
