With the holiday season beginning, people are starting to hang their Christmas decorations up.
In Texas and many other places around the world, it’s a tradition to see the holiday lights that are put up that year. Because of this tradition, here are the must-see lights in San Antonio.
Windcrest Light Up
Anyone who’s lived in San Antonio should know about the Windcrest Lightup. Every year the residents of Windcrest lights up their home according to the theme, and the winner is awarded money. The lights are magical to walk or drive through, and is a fun family and friend experience.
The San Antonio Zoo
Here in San Antonio CPS Energy and the zoo transform the park into a beautiful light show. At the zoo lights you can see all types of animals in vibrant colors and even get to meet Santa. The activities they have are sure to fill people up with Holiday spirit like the peppermint path or candy lane. The zoo lights will only be up till the 31st, so get your tickets in as soon as possible.
Six Flags
Who doesn’t absolutely love Six Flags? Much like their other years, they’ll be having their own festive light show and entertainment. You can watch Santa and his helpers light the 60-foot Christmas tree, or watch the new adaptation of Charles Dickens “A Christmas Carol”, and on the 31st they will be having the New Year’s firework celebration.
Riverwalk
San Antonio is known for two specific places, The Alamo and the river walk. The riverwalk lights are gorgeous, eating outside near the river you get the perfect view, and being able to just walk down feels unreal. It’s a perfect place to view the lights, and really be in the moment.
SeaWorld
Much like other amusement parks, SeaWorld is also holding their own light show. While it is more aimed at children, it can still be enjoyable for those who are older. Enjoy classic shows like Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer or newer shows like Mrs. Claus’ Magic Kitchen. Here in Texas we rarely get snow, but SeaWorld will be making up for that fact by having snow flurries at the waterfront and being able to witness winter wonderland on ice and meet up with Santa.
Most of these will be closing and taking down their lights on the 31st of December or January 1st, get tickets and visit these wonderful places soon.
