From creating fake social media accounts, to pretending to be human, artificial intelligence has many abilities and uses. Some situations shows that people aren’t taking advantage of it, but it is taking advantage of people.
AI is a major concern for humanity.
First off, society as a whole has been relying too heavily on artificial intelligence. For example, countless school students depend on it to provide answers to their schoolwork with the simple press of a button on their screens. Though it is a given that some students will make the choice of cheating on their assignments, this only makes the process easier for them and provides another resource that takes the easy way out of learning.
Secondly, AI has also gotten better over time at pretending to be human. It is able to come up with human-like interpretations of questions asked by its users in a way that most people wouldn’t think a robot could respond. The creativity piece in AI’s existence plays a big part in how concerning and questionable it can be. It’s way of quickly generating its own images and literary work is scary more than it is helpful, because if it is just as smart and knows how to think like a person, that means it has the ability to potentially harm us.
Artificial intelligence has the potential to do things beyond most people’s abilities. It is skilled in everything that it is capable of, such as creating songs, writing essays, and much more. It has learned to work like a human while still containing the intellect of the digital software that it is, making it easier for it to overpower us if ever given the chance.
Though some may say that AI is a good thing in terms of the way it can assist us in simple tasks, the risks that it holds compared to it’s positive abilities are outweighed. Because of its extensive abilities and intellect, it is the perfect tool for cybercriminals to hack into people’s devices and accounts. Though it’s not a guarantee, there is always the chance and slight risk that an AI assistant may hack one’s data.
Overall, AI has more cons to it than pros. At first glance, it may seem like a helpful tool that can lead humanity to success, but when not used properly or relied too heavily on, it has the chance to become dangerous and have a negative impact on people.
