Musicals contain all elements of a play or movie but contain more pizazz and manage to wow an audience almost every time. Plays have effects movies have but don’t usually give off any kind of excitement in them. There’s not usually music or anything that makes it fun.
Musicals are better than plays.
When people walk into a play, they can kind of expect what is going to happen but when they walk into a musical they are kind of expecting the unexpected because it could either go one way or another. And then watching it with all of the musicals’ stage elements always makes it so magical.
The advertising and promotion for musicals are also more enthusiastic than how plays are advertised. Sometimes people don’t even hear about them because the way musicals are advertised pulls more people in. Also musicals just seem to bring more people in because they tend to do so much more production-wise.
The actors are talented in both musicals and plays but the way actors in musicals can act, sing, and dance and just do it all is crazy. A lot of modern-day actors that are in musicals are just amazing and they always manage to serve. Alex Newell is a perfect example. They starred in Glee as Unique when that was on air and then moved to Broadway productions after their character was written off the show. Shucked was a big hit when it first came out on Broadway and Alex acted and sang in it and did an outstanding job.
While several people enjoy plays, musicals are performed, produced, and made in a better fashion. The lighting in the shows, the practical effects that are added, and the talent that is brought, just make magic happen.
Musicals are better and they always will be. Bringing the talent of a film or a play but adding more with the singing and everything else that is in the production will never not be majestic.
