In the United States of America since President Donald Trump won the election against Kamala Harris with 312 electoral college votes and Kamala Harris 226. Election day was held on Tuesday, Nov 2024. They are taking situations with undocumented immigrants more seriously, sending Immigration and Customs Enforcement known as “ICE” around sweeping through U.S cities and deporting undocumented people. About 47 million immigrants live across the U.S. Families are devastated and confused about what to do and how to handle these situations.
These laws shouldn’t be allowed, family’s deserved to be together.
The reason why people want to handle these situations more seriously is due to the reports of actions that people are doing. Illegal products and items such as drugs are being transported from Mexico to America. People get involved in dangerous situations such as gangs, kidnappings, debts and even deaths. Some don’t realize even without immigrants in our country, situations like these still happen either way.
Americans should be grateful and thankful for the work they have done for us, they have worked farms for us, built houses and buildings around us, taken care of us, family and friends in hospitals, made our environment more clean and sanitized, and served us food at our table. People show their respect for others by standing up for those who have no voice to speak and can’t stand up for themselves due to fear. Protests have been managed by communities, family and friends who show affection and appreciation for Mexicans. Posters are being made, flags are being thrown to the air and sentences are being shouted to show their support during protests. Some are showing their support also by boycotting brands and stores that don’t support them.
The act of deportation has a devastating impact on families. It separates loved ones and many Mexican immigrants built their lives in the United States. When a family, friend or someone you love gets deported it feels a void that is hard to fill. It separates connections they had and situations like these lead to feelings of anxiety, emptiness confusion on what to do and grief. The amount of people who came to the United States to live a better life and receive better opportunities for themselves and their families is big. They come here and sacrifice their lives to help others, not just themselves, they work hard, and daughters and sons come to the United States and make their parents proud. They try to become someone important, they don’t want to be known as illegal aliens. Some Americans agree and help others even if they aren’t the same nationality, other Americans disagree and think they don’t deserve to live here and want them sent back to their country.
These events that are happening aren’t just affecting undocumented but also people who were born and grew up in the U.S. Immigration has been a touchstone of the United States political debate for decades and this should come to a stop. It’s a waste of time to keep debating on this if it will all be the same and stay the same. Not everyone’s on the same page and thinking equally about how it works on whether they deserve to stay or not.
Parents are concerned and afraid for their undocumented kids who are students and go to an American school, some might not even show up to school even parents are not showing up to work, meanwhile, this can affect us too, people are staying home so they feel more secure, but even though they are home there have been affairs where immigration and customs enforcement have shown up to homes, you have the right to not open the door or speak with them unless its a valid warrant signed from a judge. Don’t let them feel like they are taking over you and feel like your rights that are given to you are being taken away, stand up for yourself and your family.
