Prom is just months away from now and tickets are going on sale. On May 3, prom will be held at the Intercontinental Hotel Downtown, on the Riverwalk. The theme this year is masquerade.
“This year’s theme was picked because we wanted something elegant and classy and we wanted to have a nice event for the seniors to celebrate their time there at the Intercontinental Hotel,” junior class president Kiera Hoppe said.
At the door tickets will be sold for $90 per person.
“The ticket breakdown is valet parking for everyone, a snack and soda, also access to popcorn machine and chocolate fountain, 360 camera, the Intercontinental Hotel is very classy and right on the Riverwalk,” junior class sponsor Michael Silva said.
This year’s DJ, John Cornado is actually a MacArthur graduate and has been doing district school events for a while.
“The junior class committee picked “Midnight Masquerade” they wanted it to be not just masquerade but they wanted to that kinda twilight, dark academia feeling to the theme,” librarian Melody Schad said.
The Intercontinental Hotel is located in the heart of downtown right on the riverwalk on Soledad St and E Pecan St.
“I want the seniors to experience what I did when I was in high school and I want them to value that time because you don’t get it back,” librarian Melody Schad said.
