Looking to throw down and jam out to some live music by local bands? Want to expand your music taste? Never been to a show before or have been searching for more to go to? Here’s a list of 8 upcoming shows of different but similar genres from now until Nov. 7.
1. SOULS OF SOUND at 3342 Lasses Blvd. A mixed-up Rap and Punk show with music by YungFrito, ILL JAEDEN, Guts Webster, Nocturus, Kaayze, Gavthadon, Spazm, Atomic Boredom, Westway, Spirit of the Sky and Urban Casket. Vendors for this show are 210 Stray Cat, Aaron (d34th_v4mp) and Bonniesneedlepit. Doors open at 5, music starts at 6, entry fee is $10 in costume and $15 without. All ages on Oct. 24.
2. Visionary Ink is hosting a trunk or treat at 6563 Babcock. Alt rock and alt metal music by Rival, Mousch, Orphan Eater, Fly Paper Planes, Nate and the Moon Band and a Robot Walks Into a Bar. Music starts at 7 p.m., tattoos available during business hours. Pay what you can for entry, costume encouraged. All ages on Oct. 24.

3. AREA 51 SPOOKS BASH presented by Mare at Area 51 Foodpark 12275 Portranco Road. An Indie show with the bands Seaglass, Lease Agreement, Cheese, Battlejoy, Subliminal, and Joetheband. Starting at 6:30 p.m., this show has no entry fee and includes a costume contest that awards prizes and will be judged by the bands.

4. CENTRAL X LUNCHBOXTV Website Relaunch Show @ Club 727. Death metal music by Rival, Orphan Eater, Basement Burial, Executioner, and For What It’s Worth. Night time market with Vendors Central, Swirly Star, wunmorwin. Doors at 6 p.m., tickets are $7. All ages on Oct. 26.

5. Seaglass and Atomic Boredom; Spook Show at Ramos Boxing, 522 Moursund Blvd. An Indie/Alt punk show with live music by Atomic Boredom, Throckmorton, Too Far Gone, Toda Spooky, Seaglass, Velvet Will Perish and Broken Alley. Doors open at 5:30 p.m. with a pay-what-you-can entry, costumes encouraged on Oct. 31.
6. Killer Cats From Outer Space EP release party – The Mousch Pit at 8710 Heath Circle Dr. Variety of nu metal/alt rock/hardcore music by Mousch, Killer Cats From Outer Space, Urban Casket, 227 Project and Bludge On the Weak. Doors open at 6 p.m., pay what you can for entry, costumes encouraged, date is Oct. 31.

7. Nation of Violence: The Experience – VictimBlamed at Vibes Underground 1211 E Houston St. Hardcore show with music by DollyWood, Tomorrow We Fly, One Last Dance, Public Threat, Claymore, Kill Or Be Killed, Postal, EnochEnoch, They Call This Tragedy, the Seduced, Woolly Mammoth and Atomic Boredom. Doors open at 4 p.m. and $15 entry fee for all ages on Nov. 1.
8. Thrashgiving at Vibes Underground 1211 E Houston St. Metal/punk show with music by For What It’s Worth, Orphan Eater, Velvet Will Perish, Mousch, Cuerno, Urban Casket, Kerosene and Brief Inner Mission. Doors at 6:30 p.m. Entry is $10 for anyone over 21 and $15 for those under 21 on Nov. 7.
