A classic throwback NBC sitcom for people that were on the tele since September of 1986 is a kid’s show named ALF. ALF stands for Alien Life Form, the name they give the alien from the planet Melmac.
In the first episode, ALF crash lands in the garage of the Tanner family and is brought into the Tanner’s home. Throughout the episode, ALF tries to learn how the Tanners interact with each other and tries to spend time with them. Despite his lack of knowledge of interhuman relations, he tries to keep a cheerful attitude with them and make them laugh.
The episode included very tacky jokes that made me feel grateful for old, classic non-vulgar jokes that gave me quite the chuckle. ALF is a very eccentric character that has many quirks compared to the average person. ALF is an adorable, 3 feet tall creature with a nose like an anteater, bulging black eyes with a lot of fur, and a middle-aged man’s voice. Alongside these features, he is an immense fiend.
For the episode, ALF then has the task to try and go back home by trying to fix his ship with the father of the family-Willie. After realizing that his ship is unfixable, and that his home planet is destroyed, the Tanners decide to let ALF live with them.
The show then expanded to have a total of four seasons with 102 episodes ending in March, 1970 and reruns being shown on The Hub with plenty of family time with ALF and wacky adventures trying to understand each other and be accepting of each other, becoming a more united family.
