The yellow striped referee stalked to the middle of the field at Hereos stadium. He handed the ball the the brahma captains where it was promptly set in the middle of the fifty yeard line. The whistle was blown and the game began. Within the first seven minutes of the game sophomore Mattie Morris takes the shot at the goal and scores giving the Brahmas the lead and ending the first half with the score board illuminating 1-0.
Ten minutes into the second half captain junior Courtney Bertholf charges towards the goal, surpassing the opposing team and leaving them in her wake to score an additional point to the Brahmas lead.
Although the Brahmas won 2-0, there were a few nail biter goals where goal keeper Lauren Majek, sophomore, saved every one with an ease only a seasoned athlete could perform.
“It was a good game and I am very proud of my team mates and myself for coming out victorious,” captain, junior, Catherine Sharp said.
