Dance can be something you do in your room, at a party, or even in a studio. Some people wonder if dance is even a sport. Well, I think yes.
Dance doesn’t just work out one muscle at a time like lifting does, it requires all your muscles to work together at the same time. Which means your body will get toned and in shape quicker than working out one at a time. Not only does dance workout your body but your mind too. The choreography can range from 3-6 minutes depending on the dance which means dancers have to memorize every move. It might seem easy to remember the moves but being able to demonstrate them precisely is difficult. It can take years before perfecting your technique! It involves hours of dance classes and stretching.
The only bad thing about dancing is the negative effects it can have on your body. Dancers can sometimes have bad joints, arthritis in their feet, and many other injuries due to falls, etc.
Most people will say sports are just things like football or soccer, but in all reality a sport is an activity that involves physical exertion and skill. That means it doesn’t have to involve a ball for it to be considered a sport. So knowing that, dance is definitely a sport!
