With the help of some spares and strikes, the bowling team went to regionals after beating Randolph Feb. 20, as part of a qualifier competition. But, this past weekend in New Braunfels, they won fourth place, not qualifying for state. They needed to place third to qualify.
“We worked really hard,” freshman Mikael Stewart said. “It came down to the last two matches to qualify.”
The players said that it seemed hard in the beginning because of the teams other scores, but they still had hope. The team started off slow but the pace picked up toward the end of the matches.
“We went into districts thinking to take one team at a time,” sophomore Mark Flowers said. “Not getting in to state motivated us to try even harder next year.”
