Lovers of punk, alternative, rock, and metal music come together every year to experience the thrilling atmosphere of one of best summer music festivals. Vans Warped Tour is widely known for a plethora of performers and its availability to fans. This year, a few new rules have been added, such as a no age limit for the visitors, tents with free filtered water, and sponsored blood drives that will provide free backstage passes in exchange for a blood donation.
Last week, the official dates and line-up were announced on the festival’s official site and social media. Among the more popular headlining bands are Twenty One Pilots, Asking Alexandria, Sleeping With Sirens, Bullet For My Valentine, and Falling In Reverse.
Warped Tour has also become a launching pad for numerous up and coming artists and bands. A few of the lesser known bands performing will be Avion Roe, Ice Nine Kills, The New Low, Teenage Bottlerocket, SayWeCanFly, and Silent Planet.
The tour happens primarily during summer and it occurs from early in the morning to late at night, therefore it is always emphasized for people to stay hydrated and safe. For this purpose, shade areas, a slip and slide, amphitheater tents, and misting stations are provided for anyone to use for free. Cellphone recharge stations will also be available, for a low price fans can leave their phone charging at the tent while they see a show or roam around venue.
Free filtered water will be provided at the Cool Gear Hydration Stations, water bottles can be purchased or one sealed bottle can be brought to the venue and later be refilled at the station. Among the other things that can and should be brought to the festival are, a small backpack, sunscreen, small homemade snacks, cameras, sharpies, and cellphones. Maps of the venue and set time sheets will be for sale at the entrance for easier navigation and planning.
If younger fans under eighteen want to attend the show, one parent can accompany a minor for free. In addition, a Reverse DayCare is available, which is an air conditioned tent where parents can stay and wait, movies and beverages are provided.
Many sponsors and non-profit organizations will give out free products such as shirts or bracelets, only for spinning a wheel or playing a game. These tents can be found in the sponsor and vendor village. For a food or cellphone donation to the Feed Our Children Now organization, a Skip The Line pass can be obtained, which means anybody with that pass enters the venue half an hour before everybody else.
