With the regular season set to kick off for the Brahmas against Churchill, they should be heading in with confidence after giving the number three rated Wagner Thundercats a run for their money last Friday in a 61-69 point loss. Yes it may seem why have confidence off a loss, but this loss was a eight point deficit to the number 3 rated team in San Antonio where the Brahmas came in as the big underdogs.
The early season has given hope to both the Brahmas and the fans as senior point guard Leander Thompson has stormed out on a scoring hot streak where he averages double digit scoring per game along with taking the charge as floor general. With the many positives to this team we’ve seen players such as Jalen Smith (Jr.) shine, and he can do almost everything, from shooting 3’s, driving and posting up, and taking the ball up the court. Everyone has a part in the success, Ben Fairall (Jr) the teams catch and shoot three point specialist. Nathan Snyder (Sr) can be the dark horse of this team if given the chance, he has the ability to be a 3-way player when heated up and comfortable, he can shoot, play defense, and be a floor general if given the chance. The entirety of the Brahma bench has the ability to shoot and go off when they’re feeling it. Not that long ago two players came off the bench and scored double digits in a win over Harlan.
So as tonight kicks off the season, and district opener against Churchill. The Brahmas will need to do everything in their power to prove why they shouldn’t be taken lightly.
