The varsity baseball team scrimmaged against Warren High School Tuesday, Feb. 15.
It was good practice for the first upcoming district game against Churchill on Monday, Feb. 21.

How do you think the season will play out?
“I think we control our own fate and we can go as far as we know we can.”
What’s your personal goal for this season?
“To improve in every way I can and to have fun with my brothers doing what we love to do.”
What do you think are the strengths and weaknesses of the team?
“Our biggest strength is understanding what we need to do to get into a position to win, and not trying to do too much. ”
What does baseball mean to you?
“To me, baseball has always been a way to challenge myself and prove people wrong.”
Frederick Matthews ,Senior, catcher, pitcher, and outfield
How do you think the season will play out?
“This season is going to be a turning point for a lot of guys and we’re all confident in each other.”
What do you think are the strengths and weaknesses of the team?
“I think we are a pretty strong team all around, we don’t necessarily have any weaknesses.”
What does baseball mean to you?
“Baseball has always been the biggest constant in my life and it’s more than just a game to me, it’s made me who I am on and off the field.”
Logan Garren, Sophomore, First base, infield, and pitcher
How do you think the season will play out?
“Better than last year. So pretty good.”
What do you think are the strengths and weaknesses of the team?
“We’ve been hitting really good. Some weaknesses are minor errors in the infield.”
What does baseball mean to you?
“Everything. I’ve done it all my life. It’s the one thing that has never done me wrong. I can just always rely on it. I love it.”
Aiden Kelly, Junior, 2nd and 3rd base, Pitcher
How do you think the season will play out?
“I feel like we have a really good team this year. I feel like we’re really gonna compete with some teams, we may not win all of them but we will compete.”
What’s your personal goal for this season?
“By the end of the season I just want to grow with the guys. Just become a real team.”
What do you think are the strengths and weaknesses of the team?
“Some of the weaknesses are that some of us don’t really play for each other, we play for ourselves. But we’ll get better throughout the season.”
What does baseball mean to you?
“For me baseball is my life. Baseball has been in my life for almost ten years now. It’s been a big part of it.”
