To promote clubs, and classes, and sports, eighth graders visited the school for a morning and hosted students from Driscoll, Bradley, and Garner on Jan. 10-11.
“It was really interesting, and fun, and cool to be able to see the next freshmen,” junior PAL Kayla Johnson said.
Many programs were shown during the visit in hopes of inspiring the students to join as many clubs as they could. Some students performed during the visit as well.
“I felt like whenever we sang, I saw some of their mouths open so I felt that I inspired them a bit,” varsity choir member Seynabou Fall said.
Trying to get the 8th graders to join some of the programs can be hard, however, some people believed their showcase helped inspire their decisions.
“They seemed really excited after they were screaming. Just excited in general, and they were asking questions to some of us,” Fall said.
When the middle school students visit, it helps to have as many programs on display so they can make easier choices on their course cards. This is why many people believe the visit is worth it.
“I think it’s really important especially because there are so many other schools and having a school with choices makes it difficult,” Johnson said. “So I think showing off all the clubs and showing why our school is different is very important.”
