As Brahmas, the school has many beloved traditions; however, one tradition could not come back this winter.
“I am pretty hurt, upset, disappointed, and angry all at the same time that the dance was canceled because I worked hard on this, going back to last May,” Michael Silva said.
The winter ball was a dance the junior class committee wanted to put on for the underclassmen, but it was canceled due to low ticket sales.
“I’m a bit disappointed, but I was not surprised,” Kiera Hoppe said. “I think that honestly people just were not interested in the idea of a winter ball and it wasn’t very well promoted.”
The winter ball was an old tradition at the school that ended sometime in the early 90s,“ Sadie Hawkins” style.
“If I were to do this next year I would have the dance after the holiday season in late January or mid-February so there’s more time spread out after homecoming and it’s a little closer to prom so I can advertise it being the last dance for underclassmen,” Mr. Silva said.
