Although it may be hard for certain students to attend prom because of all of the expensive dresses, tuxes, shoes, and accessories, these students still have an opportunity to attend. These students might want to take advantage of something the district has put together, called Project Fairytale.
Project Fairytale is a collection of used prom dresses, suits, shoes, jewelry, hair accessories and other items. Students can make donations by taking their donation items to either the front office or to our family specialist, Sabrina Lara, in her room, D141. The district will be accepting donations up to Feb. 21.
On Saturday, February 22nd, between 10 am and 12:30 pm, students will get the opportunity to shop around and find items from the collection of donated items. They will gather at Churchill High School in room 8145, at the main entrance way. They will also have an additional date. Tuesday, March 18th, from 4:15 to 6 pm at Churchill.
“We are also taking donations for anyone who would like to support a student’s hair getting done,” Lara said. So if someone has money donations, bring them to Lara. Students will be lucky to be able to get clothes, accessories, and their hair done.
Students from all over the district will get a chance to come and get needed items for their prom and get the chance to go.
“This is an amazing opportunity that I hope students take advantage of,” Lara says. Having a program to help out students and help them be included is an opportunity that everybody should take if they need it.
