As of Nov. 29, Spotify wrapped has been released. Overall, Taylor Swift is the top artist of 2023, and Miley Cyrus’ “Flowers” came out on top as the most streamed song. Each listener individually gets to find out their top artist for 2023. If a user has listened to an artist’s songs enough, they may make it into the Top 1% or better.
“I was in the Top 0.5% of Tyler, the Creator, whose music’s pretty neat,” Lillian Payton said.
There are also a dozen different character names that each Spotify user is given based on their distinct music listening habits.
“I got Alchemist, which means that I make good playlists. I’m a writer, so I listen to a ton of them,” junior Jay Jones said.
Ever since its launch in 2016, many would say that Spotify Wrapped makes the overall music listening experience a lot more enjoyable for its users.
“It makes me excited to see what top percent of listers I’m in at the end of the year, and to see what I listened to when I was sad or just whenever I felt a certain way in my life,” Payton said.
