JROTC is hosting their 47th annual Military Ball at the Hilton airport hotel on Jan. 23 at 6:30 pm. The night consists of going down the receiving line, dinner, a guest speaker, toasts, and an informal dance portion.
“I can’t wait to try all the fancy food,” freshman Kristy Beers said.
New cadets who entered the corps don’t know what to expect, but they know it’s going to be an event to remember.
“Everyone will have a good time,” sophomore Pedro Jusino said. “I’m nervous since it’s really formal.”
The military ball seems like any other dance, however it has different traditions, like male cadets wearing class A uniforms instead of tuxes.
“I enjoy dress[ing] in the class A [uniform],” junior Aaron Dose said. “Especially with the white formal white shirt and bow tie.”
Graduating cadets have experienced this celebration multiple times, but this will be cherished forever.
“This one is the last hurrah,” senior Aiden Cruz said. “It will be most memorable based upon the circumstance.”
On the night of military ball, the whole corps celebrates the taste of a military aspect.
“Military ball is a great experience with the people you love,” junior Karen Garcia said.
