Colorguard earned 3rd place at the Texas Educational Colorguard Association, or T.E.C.A State Championships on March 28, ending their 2026 contest season.
“It’s been a fun experience performing with these people potentially for the last time,” senior Daniela Palacios said.
This year, they competed at 5 contests, starting in late February. The biggest accomplishment of the season was 3rd at state championships, but they also scored another 3rd place in their first competition of the season.
“We competed at 3 different circuits, TCGC or Texas Color Guard Circuit, WGI or Winter Guard International, and TECA or Texas Educational Colorguard Association,” senior Sloan Sparks said.
Colorguard is looking for new members as the 2026-2027 season approaches.
“Even if it’s a lot of hard work that has to be put into it, it’s like any other sport, you have to put in the foundation for it before you fully enjoy it,” Palacios said. “It teaches you how to be hardworking and to work in a team as well.

I would’ve loved to have seen their work! I used to do winterguard when I was in High School.
