The Legend of Korra is the sequel to one of Nickelodeon’s most successful television shows, Avatar: The Last Airbender, which depicts a world in which some people have powers to control the four basic elements: earth, fire, water, and air.
This cartoon brings forth a new storyline that exists 70 years after the original plot, bringing on new challenges due to the world’s need for balance, protected by a chosen person, known as the Avatar, who is able to control all four elements.
This sequel gives a new edge to The Last Airbender universe, it not only has an older, female protagonist, but an industrialized environment as well.
The fourth season of The Legend of Korra started on Oct. 3, premiering online on Nick.com. Half way through the third season, the show stopped airing on Nickelodeon’s channel and continued to be aired online due to the low views.
And while the second and third seasons weren’t that popular, the trailer for the fourth season surprised many people, with not only the three year time gap within the story, but the new development within the characters and the world itself. The animation is amazing as ever, and the plot line is thrilling, a great combination for The Legend of Korra to meet the final burst of a sprint within it’s last season.
As the last season, it also seems that most of the things the fans have been asking for will be implemented, including characters from the old series, such as Toph, one of the most memorable and loved character of the original series.
It seems to be a promising end to such a beloved series, so if you haven’t watched it yet, or are still left behind in the past seasons, I recommend catching up, because this season is a masterpiece. The fourth episode will be airing tonight Oct. 24, so for those of you who have been watching, don’t forget to watch it.
