With future high school careers and college life depending on the scores made from test, it is easy to lose one’s self to the superiority of knowlege. However, that does not mean that having fun is impossible during this month of constant studying and brain jamming. After all, humans need time to process things. What better way to do that then by taking your mind off finals and attend a few concerts, since San Antonio is oozing with jumbles of musicians yearning to be heard at various locations.
May 20:
Lone Star Country rocker Jerry Jeff Walker at Gruene Hall. Walker has been the romodel to modern country stars such as Blake Shelton.
May 21:
Easton Corbin at River Road Icehouse. Enjoy country music, ice cold drinks, and smooth two-steppin’.
Guild at Click Billiards. Guild is an electro-clash band, much like Benni Benassi with rythms like Nine Inch Nails. Get your “rave on” with Guild.
May 22:
15th Annual KNBT 92.1 American Music Festival at Gruene Hall. Proceeds will be donated to the Comal Cops for Kids Foundation. Largely known country artists will perform such as Randy Rogers, Stoney Larue, Wade Bowen, Cody Canada and the Departed, and many more. Tickets are $50 for general admission.
May 24:
Blue Buzzards at Watching Hole Saloon. If you’re needing a little bit of rythm and smooth jazz, then make your way over to the blues-poppin’ show.
May 25:
Open Mic Night, hosted by Fandemic at Rolling Oaks Sports Bar.
May 26:
Drive at The Falls. Enjoy the best remixed dance hits and music by Drive.
May 27:
“Fats” Tuesday at Norris Conference Center. This four day Mardi Gras festival consists of a variety of exotic foods and concerts.
May 28:
Kyle Park at the Whitewater Amphitheatre, featuring Eli Young Band. A boot-scootin’-boogie or a slow country two-step is what you’re in for.
May 29:
Kevin Fowler at River Road Icehouse. Fowler brings great laughs with his hysterical music and a good time with his old Texas ways.
May 30:
Open Mic Night, hosted by Kyle Reed at Jack’s.

awesome article. music always helps cool down, and live music is a lot more fun to listen to than a cd or radio a lot of times. There are some good bands on that list, and some cool venues. Gruene Hall is an awesome place to hang out, free to get into(usually), and there have been some huge acts there.
