All the blood, sweat, and tears were all worth it for the JV and varsity cheer teams. After months of practice and hard work, including local competitions, the cheerleaders brought it all to the UCA mats in Orlando,Fl.
On Thursday the 6 the cheerleaders left during 3rd period and headed off to cheer finals.On Saturday the cheer team headed to semifinals. After the anticipation of waiting for the results JV girls placed 4th in the nation.While in the mean time varsity was preparing for there shot to advance to finals the following day.
“The nerves went away as we stepped up to the mats, we wanted this more than ever,” Alexis Valle, said.
The want and passion these girls have for the sport paid off for them more then they ever thought. They walked off the mats feeling confident hitting a perfect routine. After the last team went everyone awaited the results. After the judges deliberated they announced who would continue to finals.With hopes high and fingers crossed the judges announced the results.They made it to finals! The next day they competed again and placed 14th in the nation. They came back accomplishing what they worked so hard for.
