Retiring after 26 years of work, Mental Wellness Counselor Christina Esparza ends her tenure on Friday, Dec. 19.
“I’ve been here 20 years. That’s a lot. My favorite memory is handing my daughter her diploma,” Esparza said. “After graduation, because she was here, it was fun; she graduated from the place where I work.”
While finishing up her week, she plans for the upcoming year.
“I am going to take a semester to rest and travel. Then, I will start working on my private practice part-time. That’s my goal,” Esparza said. “I’m hoping to continue working with teenagers, because I love you guys.”
Before her departure, she leaves one final piece of advice.
“Any struggles are going to be temporary. They are for a reason,” Esparza said. “And then things will get better. And to go on the big adventures and have fun and look for the positive in every day. Because even in the bad days, there’s good. There’s always good. Some days you just have to look harder than others, but there’s always good.”
