Vicious Eats is a small shop in the food court of the mall, tucked in the corner. It’s a women-owned, punk rock eatery that serves maybe oddly named, but delicious food.
Vicious Eats is a restaurant inside the Wonderland of Americas mall, and we know what people like to say. “Mall food isn’t too good” or “malls are too crowded” but not only is this place one of the best burgers you can you can get in the area, it is one of the best burgers in San Antonio.
I decided to try “The Squatter” which is made with two smash wagyu beef patties, double american cheese, grilled onions and house made pickles with savage sauce on a brioche bun. The burger comes with a side of either tater tots or garlic parmesan fries. The fries are well fried and taste very good. The burger can be a bit messy, but the onions are caramelized really well. The beef compliments them really well. The pickles on the burger are sweet and I personally did not like them, but they are an interesting pairing.
One of the only issues people may bring up is the restaurant being located inside a mall and parking would be hard to find just to try a burger. On the other hand, the mall itself is not the biggest, and outside of weekly events on Saturdays and Sundays, the mall is usually pretty quiet. There’s plenty of parking, with the mall being attached to a Burlington, but if it’s not enough there’s more parking surrounding the area. The shops in the mall include trading card stores, figurine stores, record shops and a few clothing stores.
The restaurant has a few other burgers as well as sandwiches, hot dogs and corn ribs. All the options are unique and seem like they would work well together. If you’re ever in the area or just want a good meal, check out Vicious Eats.
