Holding the lead for most of the game, the girls soccer team tied Brandeis 1-1 Jan. 23 after Brandeis scored off of a penalty kick with eight minutes left in the game. Junior Kyra Falcone scored the team’s lone goal 25 minutes into the first half.
“Missed chances and the penalty [tied the game],” Coach Erik Stolhandske said.
For the majority of the game, the two teams were extremely close with the team evading multiple scoring opportunities by Brandeis off of good defense and the four saves by junior goalie Mary Cardone. The penalty kick was only Cardone’s fifth goal allowed of the year.
The team will close out the non-district portion of the season against Clark Jan. 28 at 5 p.m. at BAC-West.
